When a Client’s Brand Inspiration Inspires Me

Branding + Design

Remember how Robin Scherbatsky or Anne Perkins would date someone and end up doing everything just like them, dressing like them, having the same hobbies, talking like them?

Well, that’s how I am when I start designing a new brand. I tend to morph into them ;) I want to dress in the same style, decorate like their Pinterest home inspiration, and watch movies in that decade/vibe.

Here’s an example:

My client is a wedding & event planner in the Southeast.

  • Ideal Client Profile: Modest, traditional style with well-styled outfits, neutral colors, and occasional pops of color.
  • Shop: High-end, timeless, luxury like Oscar de la Renta,Net-a-Porter,Tove, Veronica Beard, and Tuckernuck.
  • Flower: The brand is compared to a parterre garden, which is formal, expertly planned, structured, and intricate.
  • Decade Style Influence: The 1950s and 1960s (Swans—50s and 60s), inspired by figures like CZ Guestand Lee Radziwill, with a focus on soft, tailored, modest style, with fine quality and a hint of exclusivity and fun patterns.
  • Interior Style: Transitional, Classic, and inviting. Like Suzanne Kasler, Mark D. Sikes, and Nancy Meyers.

My Latest Pins…

Since we just moved into our new house, I’ve been pulling inspiration for each room. Naturally, I now want to do floral wallpaper, boxwood-filled gardens, packed bookshelves, blue walls, you name it. And yes, I even want to start wearing outfits inspired by Julia Amory and Janie Piereponnte

I’m sure next month will be different when I design a new brand 😆 but for now, I’m loving it ;)
