I’m pretty excited to share this post with you, as it was a game changer for me. For those who may not know, I’m really not big on shopping…especially for jeans. There is something about walking around looking for clothes, trying them on and finding out they just look or fit terribly…basically becoming a waste time completely. For me, my waist to leg ratio is a bit off, so typically if it fits my waist they will be baggy and loose on my thighs. I actually have a theory that my body is just simply not made for jeans..or jeans that fit well :( BUT, then I was approached by Madewell to collaborate with them on the launch of their new denim collection and was able to put my theory to test.
I walked into their store (which is the only Madewell in Wisconsin) and was welcomed by Kari, who was kind enough to walk me around and show me their various denim options. I explained to her my little internal struggle with jeans and shopping and was quickly put at ease that I would find something I loved. So we grabbed different styles, sizes, washes, etc and started the process. The first pair I tried on was a boyfriend jean, a style I have always wanted but never found a pair that didn’t make me look silly.
And to my surprise I actually loved them! Besides the fact that they were insanely comfortable, they didn’t look overly baggy on me (or like I was a little oopma loompa). Then I moved onto a few more options…and was still impressed. I put on a pair of the slightly destroyed skinnies, and just fell in love. I’ve been wanting a pair like that for awhile, and with the high waist..I couldn’t say no and was sold. As a sidenote, I did try on their high-waisted flares, which I was obsessed with, but unfortunately they didn’t fit my legs (they looked more like wide legs, since they weren’t tight down to the knee on me).
So, for anyone within the Madison area I wanted to invite you to come shop with me and celebrate that I found jeans I actually love!
