Happy Monday! This is a little different a post than normal, but it is something I actually did just for myself for once ;)  I think more often than not people get the impression that as a work-from-home business owner you are able to be out and about, getting coffee, grabbing lunch, having happy hour, getting your nails done, etc…but for me, that’s never the case. In the past week I think I left my house three times just to run to the grocery store, nothing else, no other stops…literally barely left the house {insert embarrassed emoji face}! I’ve been working until the wee hours of the night and right back up at 7am. It’s not glamorous and for me and it actually isn’t super flexible (by choice, as I’m a workaholic)…and it get’s crazy stressful.

With that being said, I keep telling myself it’s okay to take a couple hour break and simply pamper myself..which I found it much easier to say than to do. BUT, last week I did it, and I got to experience such a relaxing massage and an infrared sauna…which put me in the best mood.  I never spend on money on things like this, as I would rather buy a throw pillow or two than do something for myself. But, I also realize the benefits of having quality experiences that are good for my overall well being and how much it can actually affect my work/energey/etc. And with that, I’m pretty darn glad to have found BERGAMOT MASSAGE & BODYWORKS here in Madison because the entire experience was awesome..and their space is simply beautiful (which you know I’m all about)!pampering yourself

First things first, I may or may not judge a business by their website (can’t help it) and landing on theirs I knew we would get along just well, it was clean, easy to navigate, and their services were right up my alley. If you take a look at their site HERE you’ll see what I’m talking about. Not only do they take their time with each client (a chat to get to know you and a full 60 mins on the table), but they also use amazing natural products. For example, I could use this massage — Alpine Arnica Workout Recovery — A blend of warming oils (arnica, rosemary, basil and bay laurel) are used to relieve muscle soreness and promote deep relaxation. – They are all about natural, herbal, and quality products..and you know I’m a huge fan of that!

After my massage, I was able to use their infrared sauna..which I had no idea what to expect and so glad I did it. I had the room to myself for an hour and was able to use their products (loved the muscle gel and oils) as well as change the sauna settings to my choosing. I, of course, set it to cardio, which meant the temp got up to about 150degrees and although I was sweating I didn’t feel like I was suffocating (like in normal saunas)! It was insanely relaxing to just sit there and simply be ‘still’. This entire experience definitely wasn’t what I was expecting..as you normally sign in, go to the room, get your message and then head out in about an hour. They took their time, they chatted with you, and they made me feel comfortable and not rushed..yeah, not rushed!  So overall, I hope reading this posts inspires you to take a break…because you know you probably deserve it ;) pampering yourself pampering yourself pampering yourself

  1. Yes. It’s very challenging to get “non work” things done as your own boss. I can totally relate. This place is nice, I’m glad you were able to experience and more importantly enjoy.
