Postcode Stories is a fragrance brand that transforms scent into storytelling. Each perfume captures the spirit of a place, from the pulse of a city street to the stillness of a coastal dawn. The founder approached me with a vision for a luxury fragrance brand identity that felt timeless, artful, and editorial, without losing its warmth or curiosity. Using the Precieux Semi-Custom Brand, we built a design system that brings scent and story together through visual form. Peek at all my past work HERE.
The Brand Used

The Brand Design Process
With Precieux as the foundation, Postcode Stories’ identity evolved through a refined blend of editorial typography, tactile materials, and apothecary-inspired elements. The goal was to merge literary nostalgia with contemporary sophistication—creating a design that feels equally at home in a Parisian perfume shop or a modern creative studio.
We drew inspiration from the marble textures and fine-art sensibility of historic perfumeries like Buly 1803, balancing that classic craftsmanship with modern clarity. The process involved adjusting the layout hierarchy, refining type weights, and softening color contrasts to create a brand that communicates quality, not flash.
The Design Details
The final identity includes a full logo suite, monogram, and a textured pattern reminiscent of Italian marbled paper—a nod to the handcrafted nature of fragrance blending. A neutral palette of stone, parchment, and deep graphite grounds the design, while subtle metallic tones bring dimension and elegance.
Typography plays a central role, with structured serifs paired with clean sans-serifs to mirror the duality of the brand: timeless and current, grounded and exploratory. Together, these elements evoke the sensory layering of scent and story—each note unfolding into something unexpected yet familiar.
The Inspiration

Postcode Stories’ Semi-Custom Brand Identity

Luxury fragrance brands are built on emotion, memory, and experience. A cohesive brand identity helps translate that into something tangible—through packaging, web visuals, and printed collateral. For Postcode Stories, the Palmer Semi-Custom Brand offered the perfect canvas to create a presence that’s both evocative and enduring.
