Just Launched! Brand and Website Design for Varnish Lane

Branding + Design

Yippee, so I’ve actually been meaning to post this beautiful project (before work got crazy) but realized now is better than before…because they are this week! The ladies at Varnish Lane reached out to me in need of a logo, brand and website design for their new upscale luxury nail care destination located in Washington, DC.

After chatting with Lauren in our consult I couldn’t wait to start the project immediately! She described their style as classic-chic with a hint of softness, including design elements of white wash wood, natural textures, marble, and gold accents. I mean, seriously who wouldn’t want to get their nails done while sitting in a comfy leather chair reading a magazine on an ipad?

After finalizing the photo, I went on to design their brand board. I created a sub mark using their ‘VL’ monogram as well as pulling together a secondary logo option and the patterns.

Onto the website design, friends..I just loved doing this design. They gave me creative freedom to create something that was a bit feminine, yet still classic and refined. We incorporated their patterns, texture, and overall clean lines. Check it out here!VarnishLane-WEbsiteDesign-FINALVarnishLane_Branding

And check out the absolutely beautiful space! I mean, do you not just want to move in!

Can you share the font used for “washington DC”? Everything is beautiful here!!!

    • Angela S says:

Hi Andrea, Thank you so much! Just about all calligraphy on my site and in my work is my custom handwriting or calligraphy. Although most times I wish it was a font..make my life much easier!

  7. Alecia says:

Curious to know if you create all your own patterns or do you source them from somewhere? If you source them where do you find all your lovely patterns and background textures?

    • Angela S says:

      Hi there,
It depends, most of them I do create myself inspired by patterns my clients like. Textures of course come from online, sometimes creative market, pixeden, etc.
