Oh friends, this won’t be a long post by any means but it’s a good one. Over a year ago I booked a weekend stay at a place in the middle of the woods, in the middle of Wisconsin, in the middle of the week (wed-fri) for my husbands birthday. Here’s the thing, if you are not yet familiar with Candlewood Cabins in Richland Center, Wisconsin you probably don’t know that they have a 2 year waitlist. Yeah, 2 years! But, I was determined to do a little relaxing getaway to Candlwood Cabins even if it meant waiting forever.
So, when their newest cabin called the Woodland House opened for reservations, you can bet I set my alarm and jumped on the opportunity. And I am so glad we did. We needed this, I needed this, and it came at the perfect time. P.S. I’m also determined to stay at the insanely beautiful Meadow House too…coz it’s gorgeous
And once again I customized a mug for a trip…I think it has officially become my thing to do ;) – And yes, this PLACE WAS GORGEOUS! I’m glad we didn’t make any real plans, but simply hung out in this gorgeous window-filled room, outside on the deck playing cards, and down by the fire pit at night. That’s basically all we did, and it was amazing.
We really didn’t want to plan much..and simply relax, but we did go kayaking on the Pine River for almost 2 hours (which was long for us)..but so much fun. It was his first time and my first time doing it on a river…one that was quite low and had a lot of tree obstacles in the water ;)
And yes, I made him pose for pics…he hated it at the time, but he’ll thank me in the future ;)
